Workout Routines Site Update

February 25, 2010

I wanted to drop this quick message to everyone to let our members, and those thinking about joining, know some changes that are taking place here at Workout Routines.

We were on a once a week updating schedule  for almost a year, but with the membership growing, I decided to change that to twice a week.

Starting next week, I will be updating the Workout Warriors Inner Circle twice a week.

One of the updates will be a workout routine text post and the other will be either a video or audio about a particular subject, be it nutrition, workout routine, or some other subject dealing with weight training.

I’m also considering creating a forum so all the members can share thoughts and ideas. I have decided yet. If it’s something you’d like to see, post a comment and let me know.

Our goal is to keep giving our Inner Circle members great content they can use to help with their weight training efforts.

Squats, Squats, and More Squats

February 20, 2010

Here is a nasty but effective program to build up your squat and get nice and strong in the process.

This is a three day a week routine with one day being devoted to the squat. The other two days will be for the upper body.

You will gain  strength rapidly on this program, especially with six days to rest up for the next assault.

This routine is great if you’re stuck in a rut and seeing zero gains in size or strength. Give it a try and I bet you’ll see some gains.

Squats, Squats, and More Squats

Monday & Friday
Overhead Press 3 x 10
Bench Press 5 x 5
Bent Over Rows 3 x 10
Curls 2 x 10

Wednesday
Squats 4 x 8
Add 10-20 pounds and do: 3 x 5
Add 10-20 pounds and do: 5 x 3

Notes: The first set of each exercise is a warm-up. Keep adding weight  when rep goals are met. As always, eat a nutritious diet, drink plenty of water, and work hard. If you do all that, I promise you’ll gain.

Hard As Nails Program

February 11, 2010

This little program, and you’ll be surprised at how little it is, can get you big and strong in record time, provided you put in the effort.

Simple, but hard-worked programs, are one of the keys to success. One can gain just as well and often many times more but using an abbreviated program.

And while you may disagree with me on training to failure, there’s no one that can argue about the success of abbreviated programs in building muscle.

This program features only four exercises, but they are four that count. They are all multi-joint, compound movements that if worked on hard and consistently will get major results.

Before I show you the program, don’t forget your diet.

You’re probably sick of hearing this but you won’t gain up to your potential if you don’t have a nutrient-rich diet. A good gaining diet contains plenty of dairy products, meats, grains, fruits and vegetables. Don’t forget plenty of good old water as well.

Hard As Nails Program

Bench Press 5 x 6
Squats 5 x 6
Clean and Jerk 5 x 5
Deadlifts 4 x 10

Notes: Workout 2-3 days per week on this routine. if you workout three days, only perform the deadlift twice a week. The first two sets of each exercise are warmups. Keep adding weight to the bar when rep goals are met. Do these four exercises, eat a nutritious diet and work hard. If you do all that, I promise you’ll gain.
