Power, More Power and Nothing But Power

September 8, 2008

As you may have guessed by the title of this post – it’s a workout devoted to building power. The cool thing is….more power means more weight lifted. More weight lifted means bigger muscles as well.

This little gem has done wonders for many a physique and if you follow it to the letter, it should do the same for you.

Building power is relatively a simple process, but it takes hard work. To put it into an equation it would go something like this.

HW + LR = Power.

What that means is heavy weight (HW) mixed in with low reps (LR) equals big time strength, as well as size gains too. It involves heavy weight, low rep training. Nothing else will build power. Don’t forget. What I mean by heavy weights is poundage that’s heavy for you. Everyone is different. Don’t overdue it.

All you have to do with this routine is progressively add more weight as you get stronger. I prefer the step cycle – which is keeping your weight the same for two consecutive workouts and then jumping it up five pounds for the next two and so on and so on.

Good luck with this routine. It’s a good one. Drop me a note and let me know if it’s working for you.

Power, More Power and Nothing But Power

Notes: As always Get plenty of rest, eat good food and drink lots of water. Remember to lift heavy and with max intensity.

Understand that to be successful in any weight training program – hard work is a must! Half-hearted effort does nothing for you. If you’re new to weight training or grossly out of shape, consult a physician first. End of disclaimer.
